Chart of the Day: EU Gas Imports via Gas Pipelines Show Continued Dependence on Imports
Summary
Figure (1) shows the EU’s natural gas imports via pipelines in selected months in 2024. LNG imports were included in the chart that we posted yesterday. The EU imports gas via pipelines from Russia Norway, Azerbaijan, Algeria, and Libya.
Imports from Norway reversed in October after a major decline in September because of heavy maintenance. The same applies to Algeria. Imports from Russia and Azerbaijan increased.
