Chart of the Day: US Natural Gas Exports Reach Record High

US total natural gas exports reached a record high in April. US LNG exports were also at a record high. Preliminary data show a slight decline in May. Figure (1) above shows trends in US natural gas exports. While exports to Canada were relatively steady, exports to Mexico increased significantly in recent years. But the remarkable story was LNG exports: from near zero to more than 12 bcf/d.
