Chart of the Day: EU Dependence on Russian Gas Declined to 15.6% in November
Summary
Figure (1) shows the EU’s gas imports by source. LNG accounted for 41.9% of the EU’s total gas (and LNG) imports, while pipeline gas accounted for the remaining share of 58.1%. In November, Norway supplied 30.3% of the EU’s total gas imports, while Russia (including its LNG) has retained a share of 18.4%, surpassing both the US (LNG), which supplied 17.7% of EU’s total imports, and Algeria (piped gas and LNG) that accounted for 16.1%.
