Chart of the Day: EU Gas Imports by Source

Summary

Figure (1) above shows the EU’s imports of natural gas by source. It shows that 54.5% of total gas imported was via pipeline while the rest (45.5%) was in the form of LNG. The largest exports of gas to Europe come from Norway, followed by the US (all LNG), then Russia, and Algeria.  Russia and Algeria export natural gas to Europe via both pipes and LNG. Most LNG imports come from the US, followed by Russia, then Algeria.
