Summary
Most people in the oil and gas markets do not realize how large the decline in Mexico’s oil and gas reserves is. Figures (1) and (2) show trends in oil and gas proven reserves since the year 2000. The large decline in reserves not only threatens Mexico’s government revenues and Mexico’s economy but would also affects global oil and gas markets and trade flows.
