CHART OF THE DAY: The LNG Interdependence between the EU and the US

Summary:

Figure (1) above shows that while the EU sources its LNG needs from 10 countries, about 90% of its imports are from five suppliers.  The EU depends on the US for 44% of its LNG requirements.  

Although some EU members have halted or reduced their dependence on piped Russian gas, they have sharply increased at the same time their imports of Russian LNG.
