Summary

Figure (1) shows trends in the EU’s LNG imports by country of origin. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, a sea change happened: the EU shifted its dependence from piped gas to LNG, and mainly from the US. Most of the EU’s LNG comes from the US, but Russia comes next.
